What we do

At Konecranes Lift Trucks, we design and build some of the world’s most advanced lift trucks customized for our customers worlds. No industry is exactly the same which why every machine is built for optimized productivity for its own environment. By understanding how our lift trucks are used in real-world conditions, we can create solutions that truly make a difference. Whether it’s extreme temperatures, limited space or specialized lifting needs, we deliver trucks that perform optimally in our customers environment.

Our machines operate globally in ports, terminals and heavy industries, handling everything from containers to massive timber. We design every lift truck with a focus on performance, reliability and long life, whether it’s powered by diesel electricity.  Our portfolio includes reach stackers, forklifts, empty container handlers and laden container handlers, with lifting capacities of more than 150 tons, making them some of the most powerful lift trucks on the market.

But strength is only the beginning. We are leading the way toward a more sustainable future with our electric lift trucks. They show that size and performance can go hand in hand with energy efficiency and zero emissions. Since 2025 we offer our customer a portfolio of fully electrified lift trucks. But the innovations do not stop there, we live in an ever-changing world, and we are innovating with it.

For our engineers and specialists, this means working with advanced powertrains, battery technology, software, automation and safety. Designing a lift truck that weighs over 60 tons and runs entirely on electricity is a challenge that calls for innovation, precision and collaboration. In Markaryd, we combine local production with global development. This is where the next generation of lift trucks takes shape.

The heart of Lift Trucks

At our headquarters in Markaryd, Sweden, around 300 employees — both staff and operatives — work side by side with cutting-edge technology to create high-tech machines used around the world. From ports and terminals to the mining and food industries, our lift trucks are built for the toughest jobs.

Production, testing, and delivery are carried out at our headquarters in Markaryd, Sweden, as well as at our facility in Lingang, China. With talent from around the world, we collaborate to innovate for the future.

A career with us combines the best of both worlds: local commitment and community in Markaryd, and global opportunities through the wider Konecranes network.

Andrée Langenkrans, Production Support Engineer

Engineering

I joined Konecranes Lift Trucks in 2015, starting as an assembler on our reach stackers. From the beginning, I was driven to improve every machine I worked on, supported by colleagues and engineers who were always willing to share their knowledge.

By taking initiative, suggesting improvements and getting involved in special builds, I gained experience that helped me grow into my current role as Production Support Engineer. What made the biggest difference was having managers who believed in me.

My advice is simple: don’t hesitate. If you want a job where you feel proud of the machines you build, this is the place.

John Elisson, Regional Manager

Sales & Distribution

I joined Konecranes in 2013 and started out in sales. After a couple of years, I was given the opportunity to take on the role of Regional Sales Manager for the U.S. organization. When the position opened, Konecranes trusted me to take the step, and I moved with my family to Houston, Texas, where we lived for five years.

Working abroad challenged me both professionally and personally, especially stepping into a leadership role. It gave me new perspectives, cultural understanding and lifelong experiences.

Today, based in Markaryd, my work is still truly global. I now work across the Middle East and Africa. Seeing a port filled with sea blue trucks you helped win the deal for is a powerful feeling and a reminder of how global Konecranes really is.

Lisa Martinsson, Senior Project Manager

Project Management

As Senior Project Manager, I work with our project portfolio and how development projects align with our Product Roadmap. I lead complex New Product Development projects from initial concept through key milestones to launching new products on the market.

What I value most is leading specialists and global teams toward a common goal. Working across functions in a prestige-less and target-focused way, and recognising each team member’s contribution, is essential.

When design is proven, the product is released to production and the entire organisation prepared for the first serial orders that comes in, it is a truly special moment for the entire team.

Jim Ek, Assembler

Assembly

There is something special about the atmosphere in Markaryd. Even though we are part of a global company, it still feels like a close-knit community. I work closely with my team and nearby groups, and over the years we have built strong relationships.

What makes me most proud is that we build these machines together. Every station and every department plays an equally important role, from the smallest details to final assembly. Everyone is part of the chain.

I’ve been here for 25 years, and I believe people stay because of the teamwork, the pride in our products and the opportunities to grow and learn over time

Zandra Wallin, HSE & Continuous Improvement Manager

Health, Security & Environment

Sustainability requires engagement and commitment across the entire organisation. At Konecranes Lift Trucks, sustainability is embedded in our culture and part of everyday decision-making.

Over the past years, we have significantly reduced our environmental impact, including cutting CO₂ emissions from 1125 to 295 tons across our two manufacturing sites. In parallel, we have developed a fully electrified product portfolio.

My role ensures that sustainability is always part of the agenda. Electrification has challenged our ways of working, especially within safety and regulations, but it has strengthened us. I am proud to be part of a company where sustainability is real, measurable and trusted by our customers.

Pelle Zivojinovic, Production Technology & Facility Manager

Engineering

I joined Konecranes Lift Trucks right after university, starting as a Production Engineer. From day one, I felt trusted and encouraged to work with ideas I believed in.

Over time, I grew into new responsibilities, and when an opportunity opened during an organisational change, I stepped into my current leadership role. What I value most is the culture of trust, freedom under responsibility and strong collaboration.

My advice to anyone starting their career is simple: don’t limit yourself. Your degree proves you can learn. Stay engaged, humble and dedicated, and the rest will follow.

Vincent Sidenvall, Technical Project Manager

Engineering

I am working to lead our engineering team to develop and test the next generation of reach stackers. Making sure a 70-ton machine is reliable, productive and intuitive to operate is both challenging and inspiring.

One project I’m especially proud of is being part of the team that developed and launched our 25-ton electric forklift. Using state-of-the-art technology to drive the industry toward low-emission solutions truly matters to me.

Our strength lies in teamwork. With a wide mix of skills and experiences, we listen to each other to reach the best possible solutions. Seeing a machine I helped develop roll out of the factory is something I’m genuinely proud of.

Wei Xi, Pricelist & Project Manager

Product Management

I joined Konecranes Lift Trucks in China in 2011 as a Sales Manager. Over the years, I developed a strong connection to the company’s culture, values and global way of working.

In 2024, my family and I decided to move to Sweden. I wanted to continue my journey within Konecranes and applied for a role in Markaryd. I’m very grateful for the trust and support I received during the relocation.

My professional experience across both the Lingang and Markaryd sites has reinforced my appreciation for our unified global culture. While local operational practices may vary, we are consistently guided by shared values, a collaborative spirit, and a common passion for our products. This diversity within a cohesive framework is a key source of our collective strength.

Being part of launching new electric products together with colleagues around the world has been especially rewarding. My advice to others is simple: stay open, take the opportunity and have confidence that the organization will support your professional path.
